Environmental shopping

On October 1, we invited our followers to Studio Levels for some environmental shopping.

Each brought clothes and accessories they no longer used and donated, swapped or sold it to the other attendees. Bags were filled up and treasures found, showing that someone’s trash truly can be another person’s treasure, now breathing new life into someone’s wardrobe,

We served some light snacks, in addition to some lovely Flower Power Algae tea from Simris. A luxurious floral flavored green tea, rich in beta-carotene from dunaliella algae – a true power flower from the sea. Thank you Simris.

We are excited for our next swap, so stay tuned!

Start digging into your closet

Most of us experience that confusing problem – a closet full of clothes and nothing to wear. I still haven’t figured out how to solve that puzzle, but I have however noticed that I’ve been facing this problem less and less lately. What has proven to be very helpful is the good old trick of cleaning out my closet.

I don’t know about you, but I like to collect clothes. I have enough of it to serve me for the next couple of years, and still sometimes it feels like I’ve got nothing to wear. That’s because I still have clothes that I’ve purchased a couple of years ago (some even from my student years!) and those items may just not feel like me anymore. Some may not fit, some are not in style, and some I just don’t feel represent who I am now. And not to mention that they occupy precious space in my closet that is filled way over its capacity. That’s why cleaning out and organizing will do wonders as you’ll be able to display your clothes better and will actually see what items you have.

Finding your favorite skirt should not feel like a scavenger hunt. Overcrowded and underused closet is definitely not making anyone’s life easier.

If you think that cleaning out your closet sounds stressful, I say it’s quite fun. It’s like a time travel machine that reminds you of the first date with your partner when you wore that red dress, or of that cool t-shirt that your best friend got for you. It can bring out memories and make you see how far you’ve come and how you’ve changed. For me that’s a nice way to get to know yourself a bit more, and to understand where you are in your life right now. And yes, I can tell all that from just my closet. Another thing that I love is that like any kind of cleaning, cleaning out and organizing your closet is very therapeutically. You get out with the old and make room for things that matter. You ask yourself if you really need that dress and you decide to let it go. We have lots of things in our lives that we like to hold on to, and sometimes getting rid even of the smallest things can feel liberating.

So, open up your closet and get rid of the things that no longer serve you. Give them away to someone who will give them a new life. A win-win for everyone: you, the planet and the person who will take what was trash to you and turn it into treasures.

Health and beauty with Oriflame

Some early mornings are easier than others. Thursday September 21, we spent a beautiful morning at Oriflame Concept Store in Stockholm.

We partnered up with the Swedish cosmetic company Oriflame for an exclusive event during which store manager and Skin Care Expert Linda Hölling talked about the effects of our environment and training on the skin and how to properly take care of it.

Our guests, wellness and lifestyle influencers, as well as 6 lucky winners from our Instagram competition also got the opportunity to learn more and test Oriflame’s Eco Beauty line while enjoying a delicious and healthy breakfast from Blueberry Lifestyle. After some mingling and private shopping before the store opened, everyone received an amazing goodie bag. Definitely the kind of morning we want to get up for.

A big thank you to Oriflame, Blueberry Lifestyle and everyone who got up early to join us. Head over to Facebook to see more pictures from our event and to keep track on whats up next.

The ultimate Sunday Combo

On the 27th of August we experienced the ultimate Sunday combo, bringing together heartfulness, yoga, brunch and bubbles in the cutest setting in the backyard of Ling Long restaurant, home of The Yoga Story

Our amazing Life Coach Sandra Aggemo and Yoga teacher Mo concocted a session mixing personal introspection, connection exercises and yoga: food for body and soul. Centered around the main question: “Who am I?” Sandra and Mo took our guests on a 75 minutes’ journey deep within themselves.

After that it was time for a delicious vegan brunch buffet brought to us by Ling Long‘s very own chef, sprinkled with bubbles! Later on everyone went home with a beautiful tote bag from Grounded Factory that also provided the gorgeous mats for the session as well as a complete training outfit from I Can I Will.

A wonderful way to spend a Sunday! Thank you to everyone who attended and to all our sponsors and collaboration partners for making it an afternoon to remember.

Yuhme: You-us-humanity-me-environement

On Saturday 26th of August we had the privilege to host a beautiful event for Yuhme, the water bottle with a purpose.

Based in Gothenburg, Alex and Alex, the couple behind Yuhme, was visiting the capital, eager to meet with our readers to share their story and values about being the change you want to see in the world.

We welcomed everyone at SUP46, the Start Up Mecca in the heart of Stockholm, followed by a very enlightening, honest and touching presentation from Alex and Alex. They talked about how the idea was born, their journey towards the very first bottle and their dreams for the future. After some Q&As, it was time for refreshment sponsored by Oatly, followed by a yoga class focusing on our water element (what else!). We worked on our second chakra and releasing the hips. All this on the beautiful and colorful Yogish Collective mats!

After the class, everyone got the opportunity to buy bottles, and at the same time making a change in people’s lives in Central Africa, by providing 6 months of clean water for each bottle purchased. All our guests also went home with a beautiful reusable environmental friendly glass straws offered by Stream Straws.

It was a very inspiring morning for all of us. A moment to share and reflect on what we do daily that can impact others and the world we live in, and how we can all make a change. One step at a time.

Practice what you preach

This weekend has been very busy. Good busy. The kind of busy you hope for when you start your own business and want to live doing what you love: inspiring people to be the happiest version of themselves.

But sometimes you get caught up in the turmoil, the excitement, the stress, the pressure to deliver and reach expectations (your own especially) and sometimes, you lose touch with the meaning of it all.

It happened to me on Saturday. We were hosting a beautiful event for Yuhme. For this we were sponsored by Yogish Collective, who generously provided gorgeous mats and a stunning one piece for me to wear. At the end of the class, Janis, our photographer took some shots of Henriette and me. We figured we always take pics of everyone else but us. Later that day as I was working on the class I would be holding the following day, when Henriette sent me one of the pictures, asking if it was ok to post in our social media channels.

My first reaction was to scrutinize the picture around my belly area. My soft spot. Literarily. I immediately rejected it, feeling way too self-conscious about myself. (Just for the record, I know I am not fat. But no one chooses their complex, right?)

Later on, it hit me… what was I doing?

Didn’t I love myself just the way I am? Who was I to preach to people about self-love and all that jazz and later on censure my own body? I felt really bad about it. Guilty as charged.

The following day, as we hosted our second event of the weekend with The Yoga Story, I listened to our dear Life Coach Sandra Aggemo asking if we had anything we wanted to share with the group, anything we wanted to work on. I suddenly realized I had to speak up. I had to let it out because a fault confessed is half redressed, right? Because I realized there was something that bothered me more than my belly on that picture, it was the idea that I could come across as fake and hypocritical.

Today, before starting on this post I stumbled upon an article in Le Monde (in french) about the whole Yoga buzz and the fact that it is so trendy that it has completely lost its meaning somehow. It really resonated with me and what had happened this weekend. Every time I teach I hope to touch people one way or another, I hope they take something with them home. But I cannot forget that every time I teach, I learn something in return.

Yoga, bubbles & brunch

Sundays are for brunch, no debate there. If it´s vegan, it´s even better and throw a little yoga in there and you got yourself the perfect start to the day.

We were lucky enough to be treated with the perfect combination of yoga, bubbles and a vegan brunch yesterday as we were invited by mymuesli to a beautiful event organized by Angelica Eldh and The Yoga Story.

We joined a joyful bunch of ladies in the adorable courtyard of Ling Long. When we arrived, we changed into a pair of tights and a sports bra from “I Can I Will” and enjoyed Frill´s frozen smoothie topped with mymuesli´s summer muesli. Afterwards we tuned in for 60 minutes of Vinyasa led by Ayla Earey on the beautiful mats from Grounded Factory, mats which are so pretty they messed with our balance poses since we couldn’t stop staring at the tropical prints. Lastly we got to mingle with all the ladies present while enjoying champagne (even spiced with Frill), followed by an amazing vegan brunch. The food was seriously TOO good!

It was a wonderful start to a sunny Sunday and we are grateful to have been invited. Thank you mymuesli, Angelica, The Yoga Story, Grounded Factory, I Can I Will, Frill and all the other ladies there.

Creating magic together

On Saturday 29th of April we got together for a Heartfulness & Acceptance Workshop at Studio Levels, in Stockholm city.

We took the morning off, setting aside time to observe, listen and follow our heart. It was a workshop filled with love, humor and self-awareness, where Life Coach Sandra Aggemo accompanied us through a heartfulness practice, introducing us to different methods, helping us to listen and trust our inner self.

We want to thank everyone who came and spent their morning with us and Sandra for guiding us through the workshop. Also, a big thanks to Studio Levels and NOA Relax & Focus.
